Its history dates back to 500 years ago when the island’s first French Settler Jambe de Bois, used this island as a pirate base. The Pitons is referred to two mountainous volcanic plugs i.e. Gros Piton and Petit Piton located in St. Lucia. Talking about the heights of The Pitons, Gros Piton is 771 meters high and Petit Piton is 743 meters high. The Pitons are a world heritage site declared by UNESCO World Heritage Center.
